A new study by researchers from the universities of Ohio and California concluded that workers using the Messenger instant messaging type, have fewer work interruptions than those who do not use, so increases productivity.

The study was conducted between May and septiebre 2006 on 912 people who worked at least 30 hours per week in an office and used a computer for at least five hours a day.
